Social Entrepreneurship Award
Local Laundry is a made in Canada clothing brand that builds community in everything that they do. By creating locally inspired casual wear, Local Laundry has captured a small segment of that market and growing, within the Canadian apparel sector. Through strong retail partnerships with larger retail players the brand has been able to grow its customer base across Canada, while continuing to invest in building community.
At the core of the business is our five pillars of building community. These five pillars are, proudly representing where you are from, collaborating with others, sharing stories from the community, manufacturing made in Canada products, and giving back to the community. Each decision Local Laundry makes, must fall in line with the brand pillars. It’s creating these pillars that have led to collaborations with organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, Kids Cancer Care, Kids Sport, and many others. These pillars have contributed to donating tens of thousands of dollars to local charities, alongside the many products donated as part of our giving garments program. It's these brand pillars that lay the foundation of the company, and make Local Laundry a great candidate for this award.
